9th June 2008: The 20 volunteers from ISKL are divided into 3 teams. Initial briefing was conducted at the site by President Allen Tong and Board Member Johan Amilin. Emphasis was placed on safety observation and team work to help and support each other. The volunteers were informed that 3 things are important ie. (1). Site Management (2) Material Management and (3) Labour Management. Habitat is constantly looking for ways to improve its building methods, finding ways to improve efficiency and control costs (as building material costs is constantly escalating!). Habitat for Humanity will always appreciate suggestions for improvement from the volunteers.
